This week on Black Labone we are graced by Soweto Born and bred jazz vocalist, composer, poet and songwriter Nomalanga - The Sun and Her Melanin Rays.
Ziwe Lufefe & Tha Lo Lights are a dynamic collaboration that weaves together the essence of hip-hop, jazz, and African sounds.
The band has a shared the stage a few times at the Encore Theatre, as well as at the Market Theatre. Today and they join us today with a story to tell.
#CABIAB, Conversation are better in a Benz, a Live Rendition of Legendary Rapper/MC/Producer N'veigh aka Don Chips aka 30 Gs very well known for his hard-hitting punchlines and gritty lyrics. This week he rocks out with the Black Labone House Band.
Vocalist and Trombonist Hope Hadebe says Hello and a Goodbye with her debut performance at Black Labone Serving as a farewell party before she flies out to Cape Town this weekend.

USAID Launches Siyafunda Community Learning Hubs to Promote School Readiness
Nal’ibali Trust and implementing partners, Mikhulu Trust, Sunshine Association, and Macmillan Education, launched the Siyafunda Community Learning Hubs project, a new early childhood development project aimed at enhancing school readiness in Umsunduzi Municipality, KwaZulu Natal. This initiative is supported by theUSAID to strengthen and build community support for early learning to ensure that more children aged 0-6 years old in the Msunduzi Municipality start primary school with the skills and knowledge they need to learn and thrive.

The Basadi in Music Awards (BIMA) internship program offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the vibrant world of music awards. This program, presented by the Creative Arts Directorate division of the Gauteng Department of Sports, Arts, Culture, and Recreation, is designed for passionate young women eager to develop their skills in various facets of event management and production.
Internship Programs Available:
1. Production Assistants
- Assist in the planning and execution of event logistics.
- Support the production team in coordinating technical elements and schedules.
- Gain experience in backstage operations and live event production.
2. Public Relations (PR)
- Help in crafting and distributing press releases.
- Assist with media outreach and managing press contacts.
- Support the PR team in developing strategies to enhance the event's public image.
3. Social Media
- Create and manage content across various social media platforms.
- Engage with the audience to increase awareness and excitement about BIMA.
- Monitor social media trends and analytics to optimize campaign performance.
4. Legal
- Assist the legal team with contract reviews and negotiations.
- Support the compliance efforts related to event regulations and intellectual property.
- Gain insight into the legal aspects of event management and the music industry.
5. Stage Manager
- Assist in coordinating stage activities and performer schedules.
- Support the management of stage setups and transitions.
- Ensure smooth and timely execution of the event program.
6. Runner
- Provide essential logistical support to the event team.
- Assist with various tasks to ensure the event runs smoothly.
- Gain experience in the fast-paced environment of live events.
7. Guest Relations
- Assist in managing VIP and guest experiences.
- Coordinate guest services and hospitality arrangements.
- Ensure a memorable and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
