The Town I Know

The Town I know

looking outside this window

I see the town I know

It’s after all a day’s work

about stopping and everywhere

taxis must and they warn you

even cops will search an innocent pocket

preaching no smoking anyway no why

It’s rivalry between faces that has never met

sirens wake you up from nowhere

opened eyes see the good the bad and the different

come home brother

that’s where we belong

my love already here?

probably waiting for the bus

do I hear a yes?

just the build will amaze you

the flower’s blooming again

soon it will be time to go home

children’s playground’s not for sit-in parks you adulterous cheats

seek home, humble pie

you live a lie

at nine you’re back in line
