The
Next Generation band has come a long way since its early days of rehearsing at
friend’s flat or parking. The band, which was formed around 2011, boasts two
award winning artists, Ntshudu Judah
Guduvheni and Tendani Jah Soldiers
Maiwashe. Judah (lead singer)
released ‘Let thy kingdom come’ in
2014 which won the award for Best Reggae album in the SATMA awards 2015. Jah
Soldiers, who plays keys, has three solo albums. His latest album titled ‘Nndededze’ (Guide me) won the 2015 TSHIMA award for best Reggae album. The band
will be undertaking a tour that will feature live performances from these two and
other artists from the Next Generation Band.
The Next Generation tour
will start on the 26th December 2015 in Mutale Town Hall in Venda. The
Next
Generation tour is a music tour aimed
taking the Next Generation Band to the people and will take place in Limpopo,
Gauteng, KZN and Mpumalanga. The tour will feature live performances by Jah Soldiers, Judah and Lufuno Munzhelele. Lufuno Munzhelele plays rhythm guitar in
the band and will be releasing his first single in December. The band is in the
process of putting together songs to record an album under the Next Generation
band.
The Mutale leg will also feature performances by Junior Sikheli, Ramzeey,
