Business and Arts South Africa (BASA) CEO Ashraf Johaardien has stepped down from his position following a board meeting on 5 September 2024.
Business and Arts South Africa (BASA) Board announced that BASA CEO, Ashraf Johaardien had tendered his resignation. His resignation has been accepted by the Board.
This followed a Board meeting held on Thursday. During the meeting, the Board passed a vote of no confidence in the CEO and initiated a review of BASA’s internal operations.
In accordance with a Board resolution, Aviwe Matandela Finance and Operations Manager at BASA, has been appointed as Acting CEO, ensuring stability and continuity as BASA navigates this transitional phase. All ongoing projects and BASA activities will continue unabated.
The Board will now initiate a process to find a successor.
